Stained Glass Suncatcher Quickie

• Not sure if you want to commit to a full workshop? Bring a friend and make a suncatcher each.  Basic cutting, foiling and soldering skills introduced in this 3+ hour workshop.  All materials provided.  Cost: $120 for two people.

 

Beginner’s Stained Glass Workshop

• In this 12+ hour, 4-week beginner’s workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of the copper foil method of stained glass. Class size is limited to two or sometimes three students, so you will receive lots of one-on-one attention. Cost: $280 per person.

Pattern Making Workshop

• Are you ready to start creating your own one of a kind designs? In this 2-hour workshop, we will work together to explore the art of patterning for stained glass, discussing and identifying those dreaded impossible cuts and learning how to avoid hinge lines. The goal ... a beautiful pattern that will result in a structurally sound panel. Cost: $45

Targeted Instruction

• Have you already taken the beginner’s class or would like additional help with a specific skill? Then one-on-one targeted instruction is probably right for you. Bring your project and let’s work on it together. Cost: $25 per hour (supplies extra).

Bench Space

• Still haven’t invested in tools of your own, or do you just need a place to work? Bring your project and come share my studio space. Bench space and basic tool rental: $15 per hour.

Beginner's Stained Glass Workshop

In this 12+ hour beginner’s workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of the copper foil method of stained glass.  Class size is limited to two (or three if requested) participants, so you will receive lots of one-on-one attention.  We will cover:

• safety in the workshop

• introduction to the tools of the trade

• identifying different types of glass

• scoring and cutting using hand tools

• grinding and fitting

• foiling

• soldering

• framing and finishing

The studio is on the Erie Canal so, weather permitting, we can enjoy the outdoors while we foil and then finish your panel.  This class is suited to students with little or no experience as well as those wanting a review.  At the end of the workshop, you will have created a beautiful panel that you can hang in your home AND have the skills you need to create more pieces.

Choose the workshop time that best suits you OR talk to me about a custom schedule.  Classes are booked on request:

• 3 x Saturdays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• 4 x weeknights 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

• 1 x weekend intensive workshop 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday - plan on having lunch at one of our local restaurants!

Cost: $280 per person (minimum enrollment of two students).   

Payment can be made by cash, cheque or PayPal. The cost of the workshop includes access to all of our tools and equipment - the only thing you need to bring is a pair of safety glasses. There is an additional materials fee for consumables used. This fee usually ranges from $55-$75, depending on the type/amount of glass used. Once registered, you will be sent a PDF of different patterns from which to choose. Please note that once the workshop dates have been set, unless all parties agree to a date change, make up classes will be billed at the cost of $25 per hour.
